European Defence Agency (EDA)
The European Defence Agency (EDA) was established to improve the European defense capabilities in the field of crisis management and to sustain the European Security and Defence Policy. Its three main missions are to support the development of defence capabilities and military cooperation among EU members, stimulate defence Research and Technology and strengthen the European defence industry, and lastly to act as a military interface to EU policies. Thus the EDA acts as a catalyst, collaboration promoter, launcher of new initiatives, and introduces solutions to improve defence capabilities. The agency works flexible, a la carte, in a small in size setting, aiming towards cost-efficiency.
