European Economic and Social Committee / Sustainable Development Observatory (SDO)
The Sustainable Development Observatory (SDO) of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) aims towards promoting sustainability in the EU by advancing economic prosperity, social inclusiveness, and environmental responsibility both integrated and balanced. It is committed to enhance active participation of citizens and cvili society to shift Europe and the EU to become increasingly sustainable across all sectors.
The SDO's members come from interest groups with expertise and outreach across European Member states. Facilitating dialogue and partnership between civili society and EU institutions regarding sustainable development is the core role of the SDO. It does so by organizing public hearings, conferences, platforms for exchanging good practices, as well as workshops and impact studies, and contributing to the EESC opinions.
